Role Overview:We are looking for a dynamic German speaking corporate lawyer (B.A., L.L.B, Staatsexamen) ready to handle a range of complex topics. You will be encouraged and expected to negotiate technology transactions, provide advice on corporate/commercial, employment and regulatory matters and take ownership in other projects. As a member of the Nuix Legal Team you will be joining a small collegiate team with exceptional learning opportunities at the forefront of Tech and AI. 
 
Role Location: 
This position will be based either in our London office or Frankfurt office.  The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 2-3 days per week, but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the London/Frankfurt office for the remaining days of the week.
 
This position will report into the Region Counsel, EMEA (based in London) and will be primarily responsible for supporting the day to day operations and functions of the Nuix Legal Department for EMEA in close collaboration with the Region Counsel, EMEA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Be a point of contact for specific requests in EMEA for technology (Software and SaaS) agreements, partner agreements, and services agreements, or to modify contract terms, while working with internal business partners to negotiate terms and obtain approvals for modifications as required, and to answer routine questions.
  • Support attorneys and business partners in contract drafting and execution, including initial drafting and review of counter-proposals based on approved forms and contracting policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of Nuix products, contracts, standard terms and business objectives.
  •  Support, maintain and improve form agreements and tools, including review cycles, clause libraries and drafting guidance/playbooks.
  • Support contract management system and related business processes, including project-specific reports, analysis and support (e.g., diligence).
  • Support public tender and other legal project management 
  • Maintain strong working connection with business partner organizations, including proactive identification and execution of system integration, analytics and other optimization opportunities to improve overall speed and efficiency.
  • Support the Deputy General Counsel with global employment matters including, but not limited to, hiring, discipline, investigations, compliance, and termination. 
  • Provide support to the Deputy General Counsel, General Counsel and Region Counsels, and assist in special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 3-5 years PQE gained in a law firm or global software company with commercial/corporate experience with a focus on negotiating vendor, technology agreements and advising on employment matters under English and German laws.
  • Ability to identify risk and provide legal advice on a wide range of matters, and demonstrated experience working independently and within a team
  • Proven contract negotiation, legal research and analytical skills and abilities
  •  Previous experience with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional contracts a plus

  • Strong analytical capability and demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of detailed information, stakeholder requests and general matter management
  •  Strong written and oral communication skills, including drafting skills, and ability to effectively interact with staff, senior management, and internal clients
  • Ability to prioritize while maintaining attention to detail
  • Experience working or studying in German and English and business fluency in both required
  • Exceptional organizational skills and self-starter who drives solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office application suite and equivalents
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, SharePoint, LawVu, DocuSign and other similar CRM tools
