Computer Vision Industrial Placement

Hitachi Rail

The role involves the development, production, analyses and testing of solutions for computer vision and machine learning systems developed by Hitachi Rail. These include, but are not restricted to, track and infrastructure inspection and measurements. Collaborating with our computer vision, data analytics and software engineering teams, you will participate in cutting-edge applied research on automated railway inspection.

Essential Requirements

Coding experience for at least one programming language such as Python (preferable) or C/C++

Excellent analytical, teamwork and communication skills

Enthusiasm for the development of cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technologies

Desirable

Some knowledge of the following would be beneficial:

Deep learning libraries such as PyTorch or Tensorflow

Image processing, computer vision and machine learning techniques

Industrial programming technologies such as Linux and Git

Qualifications

Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with the option to include a 12-month industrial placement

Studying Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
