About the Centre for AI and Climate and Weave:

The Centre for AI and Climate is a not-for-profit organisation focused on enabling the application of machine learning and AI to accelerate climate action.

One of the most significant challenges in applying AI to climate action is being able to find and access the data required. To address this, we have built Weave, an online data platform that revolutionises access to energy data with just a few lines of code, empowering data scientists to tackle some of today’s most pressing challenges.

This project is being funded by the UK Government and supported by the Canadian Government, and is being delivered in partnership with CEIMIA, a Canadian AI Centre of excellence.

The story so far:

We started working on the project in July and launched the first version of Weave in September. The response was amazing and we quickly realised a big part of the future of Weave was going to be community driven. We’re currently working on building the next release and expect an even bigger response from the community. We need someone to help us make the most of the opportunity.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a proactive and passionate Community Manager to build and nurture a vibrant community of data scientists who can fully leverage Weave’s capabilities.

You’ll play a key role in engaging with data professionals, gathering insights, fostering collaboration, and empowering users to make the most of our solution.

Additionally, you will work closely with our product team to understand and communicate future development of new datasets, ensuring the community is always informed and excited about upcoming features and opportunities. This is an opportunity to join an exciting project at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and data science.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow an active, engaged community of data scientists around the Weave platform.
  • Organise webinars, online events, and discussion groups to showcase how Weave can be used effectively.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for community members, providing support and resources to drive user success.
  • Relay user feedback and identify opportunities for product improvements.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy to keep the community informed, inspired,
  • and engaged.
  • Foster relationships with industry influencers and potential partners to expand the
  • community.
  • Track community engagement metrics and report on community growth and user
  • needs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Community Manager, preferably in a software or technical environment.
  • Experience building and managing online communities, including creating content and organising events.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and connect with diverse community members.
  • Ability to work closely with technical teams to provide community insights and feedback.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience using community management tools (e.g., Discord, Slack, forums).
  • Proven track record of fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within an online community.
  • Passionate about Weave’s mission of addressing climate change by improving access to data and accelerating the use of artificial intelligence .

Why Join Us?

This role offers a unique chance to shape the community around an innovative product with a meaningful mission. If you’re excited by the idea of connecting with data scientists and helping them unlock the full potential of Weave, we’d love to hear from you!
