Commercial Director
As the Commercial Director at Rovco, you will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and be a key member of our senior leadership team. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and implementing robust commercial strategies, optimising tender processes, and ensuring Rovco & Vaarst's success in securing and delivering marine projects.
To be successful you'll need to be a visionary leader capable of steering the commercial strategy, optimizing tender processes, and driving the organisation towards sustainable growth and profitability.
Objectives & Responsibilities:
Rovco is an exciting and dynamic environment meaning these are likely to change as we grow. Upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement a commercial strategy that aligns with Rovco’s objectives and market opportunities. Provide visionary leadership to the commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Governance and Compliance:Ensure industry-leading governance by enhancing pre- and post-contract processes. Maintain a strong understanding of UK, EU, and international commercial laws and offshore industry standards.
- Tender and Contract Management:Oversee the tendering process, lead contract negotiations, and manage contracts to optimize opportunities while mitigating risks.
- Team Development:Ensure the commercial team is well-structured and skilled to meet business needs. Support the hiring and development of team members in current and emerging business regions.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration:Work closely with other departments to achieve the highest operating standards and support supply chain and logistics functions.
- Risk Management and Business Improvement:Identify, manage, and mitigate risks within the commercial function. Lead business transformation and change projects to enhance overall performance.

- Qualified or relevant expertise in Business Management, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in senior commercial roles, ideally within the offshore wind or marine industry.
- Demonstrated success in contract negotiation, management, and governance.
- Deep understanding of UK, EU, and international commercial laws and contracting frameworks (e.g., Logic, NEC, FIDIC, Bimco).
- Excellent financial, commercial, and contractual acumen with the ability to analyse data and make strategic decisions.
