Job overview

We are seeking motivated and dynamic Band 6 Community Nurse to join the Specialist Children’s Community Nursing Team in providing excellent quality nursing care for children.

The role will require the successful candidate to work as part of the team based at The Grove and visiting children and young people throughout Redbridge, who have nursing needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join the existing Children’s Community Nursing Team in carrying out a range of clinical nursing activities. They will utilise a range of skills and experience gained in clinical practice to provide holistic assessments for children who have complex needs. Clinical judgement will aid the post holder to formulate a care plan based on these assessments. The post holder will also demonstrate excellent time management skills to enable them to work autonomously at times. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as good knowledge of current Nursing best practice and the ability to work as an effective team member across the Childrens Nursing Team as well as the wider Multidisciplinary Team and external agencies.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.
