Job Description

What will you be doing?

We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Business Intelligence & Analytics team in London who are responsible for providing insightful analysis and data on client (customer) activity across Evelyn Partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to help develop the understanding of the client and take the business to the next level, using your advanced analytics and data science skills to do so. We are at the start of a transformation journey and the role would suit ambitious and inquisitive individuals keen to show an organisation how to realise value from data. This is a new role in our Professional Services Technology team and will play a key role in defining the strategy moving forward.

As Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager, your responsibilities will include among others

  • Managing the team to support delivery of data engineering and Power BI Reporting to Professional Services
  • Mentoring and providing technical support and knowledge sharing to the wider data and analytics team
  • Overseeing and creating where necessary highly detailed tabular models, including SQL database development to store data in a manageable reporting format
  • Using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for larger data models, including complex DAX
  • Business Analysis and requirements gathering with stakeholders to design the best technical solution and translate to team for development
  • Creating automated sustainable reporting solutions and identifying improvements in existing processes to enhance efficiency and tackle technical debt
  • Monitoring security in Power BI and incorporating Row Level Security (RLS) into data models
  • Creating Power BI Gateways, Workspaces and Apps. Ensuring that appropriate access is applied
  • Documenting processes, database models, and architecture plans
  • Raising awareness of and leading the Centre of Excellence (CoE) designed to create automated, sustainable, secure, single-source-of-truth reporting solutions across the company
  • Informing users of best practises when using Power BI to create efficient and accurate reporting
  • Managing Power BI processing resource and creating dedicated resource capacity for Core and individual model processing
  • Bring together multiple data sets into defined and sustainable solutions to deliver ‘one source of truth’ to the business
  • Work closely with different teams across the business to improve data literacy and empower teams with the right tools, reports and guidance to leverage insight to make better informed decisions
  • Line management of a PowerBI analyst


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have

  • Considerable experience with MS Power BI & DAX
  • Considerable experience in SQL for querying, analysis, and optimisation
  • Experience using Microsoft Development (Visual Studio) tools to develop and manage database & BI projects
  • Understanding of best practices to deliver compelling data visualisations & reports
  • Understanding of industry-standard data warehousing modelling techniques
  • Knowledge of ETL using a variety of data sources
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Understands processes, data and strategic priorities
  • The ability to design solutions that meet user needs, allowing for design and ethics standards
  • The ability to work towards the successful delivery of products and establish maintenance requirements

Desired 

  • STEM degree is preferred but experience above more essential
  • PowerBI certifications preferred
