With our team of industry-leading specialists, we conceive and build open-source solutions that break new ground. Armed with our deep understanding of open-source MLOps, and appetite for innovation, we work side-by-side with data science teams to help them realise their vision. If a problem seems impossible, we find a way. If the right tool doesn’t exist, we build one. Allowing us to harness and channel the power of AI models and make positive and meaningful change.

About Us

We believe that AI creates endless opportunities to have a positive and meaningful impact on the world. We exist to help harness and channel the power of AI more quickly. We are driven by our passion for open-source MLOps, and our desire to contribute to the wider open-source community. We value and recognise the symbiotic relationship between those who build open-source tools, and those who build using them. Together, we innovate to make positive change, and use AI for good.

About the role

We’re based in Greater Manchester, UK, operating on a hybrid model, typically spending three days a week in the office.

Over the past 12 months, we have doubled both our business size and revenue, and our growth ambitions for this year are just as bold. Our work spans both private and public sectors, but we are now looking for an energetic, commercially-driven professional to help scale our private sector business alongside our CCO.

To date, our growth has been fueled by partners, inbound inquiries, networks, and referrals. Now, we are focused on building a scalable, repeatable revenue engine—and this role will be instrumental in shaping and executing that strategy in collaboration with our Marketing and Leadership teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Building a high-quality pipeline of new private sector opportunities.
  • Developing strategic sales approaches that align with our long-term growth objectives.
  • Partnering with the CCO to drive deals from lead to close.
  • Helping shape how we engage, sell, and deliver to private sector clients.

This role isn’t about chasing quick wins—it’s about sustainable growth, ensuring we sell the right services to the right customers.

Who we are looking for

We’ve built a great culture at Fuzzy Labs and how you work is as important as what you do, here’s some of the ways we see our values lived in this role:

  • Loving what we do: This applies to what we sell and who we sell it too. So if helping customers to benefit from AI/ML technologies is your thing, you will fit right in.
  • Just trying it:Our customers tell us that they love us but the market is ever evolving for AI services and products and our customers' challenges are ever evolving. This means working with customers to help them define where to start and in some cases coaching them through stepping into the unknown.
  • Being greater than the sum of parts:Selling AI/ML isn't a solo game, you’ll be part of a close knit team of technologists. You’ll be able to bring together our team, partners, customers and advisors to deliver successful outcomes for all.
  • Positive impact:We chose to build a business that will use AI for the benefit of society, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring we find customers and use cases that cement and enhance this belief and deliver a positive impact in the world.

As well as living the values you’ll also be able demonstrate:

  • Experience:ideally worked in a start-up environment and can show success at growing revenue. Experience in selling technical solutions is preferred but provided there is an aptitude to learn it is not mandatory.
  • Client communication:strong communicator, comfortable running meetings and communicating with multiple persona types on the technical front (we generally sell to Technical Leadership).
  • Commercial:proven track record of growing revenue, selling service and product packages.
  • Business development:can find new business using innovative methods that are well thought out and executed. Running high impact and occasional vs. low impact and frequent activities.
  • Self-starter:with lots of support from our CCO and the business, you will be expected to build and deliver your own commercial plans.

What we can offer you

  • KPI based bonus.
  • Company share scheme.
  • 25 days holiday (+ stats); with an additional day for every subsequent year.

Negotiating Your AI Job Offer: Equity, Bonuses & Perks Explained

Artificial intelligence (AI) has proven itself to be one of the most transformative forces in today’s business world. From smart chatbots in customer service to predictive analytics in finance, AI technologies are reshaping how organisations operate and innovate. As the demand for AI professionals grows, so does the complexity of compensation packages. If you’re a mid‑senior AI professional, you’ve likely seen job offers that include far more than just a base salary—think equity, bonuses, and a range of perks designed to entice you into joining or staying with a company. For many, the focus remains squarely on salary. While that’s understandable—after all, your monthly take‑home pay is what covers day-to-day expenses—limiting your negotiations to salary alone can leave considerable value on the table. From stock options in ambitious startups to sign‑on bonuses that ‘buy you out’ of your current contract, modern AI job offers often include elements that can significantly boost your long-term wealth and job satisfaction. This article aims to shed light on the full scope of AI compensation—specifically focusing on how equity, bonuses, and perks can enhance (or sometimes detract from) the overall value of your package. We’ll delve into how these elements work in practice, what to watch out for, and how to navigate the negotiation process effectively. Our goal is to provide mid‑senior AI professionals with the insights and tools to land a holistic compensation deal that accurately reflects their technical expertise, leadership potential, and strategic importance in this fast-moving field. Whether you’re eyeing a leadership role in machine learning at an established tech giant, or you’re considering a pioneering position at a disruptive AI startup, the knowledge in this guide will help you weigh the merits of base salary alongside the potential riches—and risks—of equity, bonuses, and other benefits. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of how to align your compensation with both your immediate lifestyle needs and long-term career aspirations.
