Description Proposed Interview Date: Week Commencing Monday 07 October 2024 Closing Date: Sunday 29 September 2024 Contract Type: Permanent 3x Positions Salary: FC9 £42,686.23 to £51,302.31 Working Pattern: 36 hours per week Location: Bankhead, Glenrothes Job Details We currently have an exciting opportunity in the Directorate Solution Teams within BTS (Business Technology Solutions) for 3 x FC9 Lead Officers – Solutions Specialists. The successful candidates will join highly motivated and creative BTS Directorate Solution Teams aligned to: Place Health and Social Care and Trusts Communities, Finance and Corporate Services BTS is responsible for the council’s information technology network and resources. BTS procures and maintains all computer hardware and software, together with the network that connects it all together and to other organisations. This includes Fife Council’s telephone systems, electronic data storage and the IT applications that support service delivery. The Directorate Solution Teams are part of Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and are responsible for the development, delivery and support of Directorate and Service-specific ICT platforms and solutions and to ensure effective linkages with Council-wide ICT strategic priorities and delivery. The successful candidate will have extensive operational experience of complex IT solutions and an in-depth knowledge of IT environments, as you will be expected to oversee the operational activities of the team. You will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing operational performance data and analysing trends for proactive intervention and continuous improvement. Business Continuity Planning is a critical element of ensuring effective service delivery. Taking a lead role, you will work to ensure that the Directorate’s critical systems and BTS’s Recovery Plans are aligned and are tested to ensure the risk and impact of system failure is minimised for Fife Council and citizens of Fife. You will collaborate with colleagues, senior staff and business partners within the Directorates and other agencies, to identify digital opportunities with an aim to modernise and digitise services to increase efficiency and improve the customer experience. Working with the business you will develop approaches to implement, for example, artificial intelligence, automation, Internet of Things and data analytics to drive business improvement. You will play a key role in developing strategies, policies, standards, and guidelines to support the Council’s vision for digital transformation. You will work with Strategic Platform Teams within BTS to understand and fully utilise their existing capabilities aligning with our approach to reuse where possible and lead the activities necessary to deliver and support existing and future BTS services and products. You will oversee direct reports and be responsible for managing individuals and groups, both within the team and as part of broader BTS projects. You will assign responsibilities and tasks accordingly. You will also be responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing staff. You will be a clear thinker who is able to simplify complex issues for target audiences, demonstrating innovative thinking and the creative application of ideas. The role requires a high level of independence, as well as a proficiency in reporting and presenting to stakeholders across the organisation. You will be able to work well under pressure and cope with uncertainty, adapting your approaches as required. The Person You should be educated to SCQF Level 8, which includes HND or SVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
