The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Thursday 08.00-16.00 and Friday 08.00-15.30

Royal Hospital for Children are looking for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit to provide generic and specialist education, support and direction to nurses and other healthcare workers within Paediatric Intensive Care.

We are looking for someone to:

plan deliver and evaluate educational pathways for critical care nursing to meet present and future service needs.

The role will advise, support and provide direction to all trained nurse and health care workers on educational and clinical issues. The post holder will be able to provide educational support and direction to nurses and health care support workers within the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. They will assist in developing, facilitating, delivering and evaluating current and implement new educational programmes to meet the needs of the child and young person, their family and all nursing staff in their remit. The successful candidate will develop, implement, deliver and evaluate the education programmes to meet specific needs of the child, family and nursing staff through competency based framework and will work in close collaboration with clinical personnel to promote, deliver and enhance high quality evidence based learning that will provide excellent standards of care.It is essential you are a Registered Children’s Nurse with an NMC approved qualification and have substantial post registration experience.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
