AI Engineer - Investment Platforms - upto £110k London, hybrid (3 days a week)

We’re partnering with a leading alternative asset manager to hire an AI Engineer at AVP level. This a very successful 23-year-old business, with almost 500 people. You’ll be working in a small team of 4 developing GenAI applications for their clients.

You will build practical AI, automation and analytics solutions that support investment teams across the deal lifecycle. The focus is on shipping useful tools quickly, then evolving them as adoption grows.

This is a great opportunity to have direct impact as your tools will inform decisions on large, complex portfolios.

Who are you?

You have a deep understanding of AI and have experience developing GenAI applications into production, with a focus on solving the problem ahead of choosing the technology.

You’ll have worked with stakeholders and be able to define their problems and create solutions for them.

You’re comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at helping non-technical stakeholders define their needs.

What you will do

  • Own delivery of end-to-end automation and AI workflows using Python and SQL, with frameworks such as Streamlit and FastAPI, plus cloud orchestration
  • Build reusable components and templates to accelerate future delivery
  • Integrate LLMs into production use cases, including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines and agentic patterns where appropriate
  • Work directly with investment professionals, turn ambiguous asks into scoped problems, and iterate in short sprints
  • Lead hands-on sessions to drive adoption and help teams spot new AI opportunities
  • Prioritise demand-led work that shows value quickly, then scale the right solutions

    What experience will you have?

  • 5 to 8 years’ in developing AI/ML solutions
  • API development with FastAPI or Flask
  • Orchestration and automation, for example Airflow or asyncio
  • Developed applications using latest LLMs (Anthropic, META, Google, Mistral etc)
  • Experience with multi agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, MCP, CrewAI etc)
  • Experience in end2end development and deployment of ML models
  • Experience with financial data APIs or market data feeds

    Nice to have

  • Azure AI Services or Cognitive Search
  • Consulting or product delivery background with stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of credit or broader financial markets

    What will you get?

    You’ll receive a base salary of £80–110k, plus a 10% bonus, 11% pension contribution, and private health and dental cover.

    Location and working pattern

    This is a hybrid position with 3 days a week in office (City of London) for on-site collaboration with investment teams.
