The Architecture Services Team comprises members from many different technical and non-technical backgrounds; from network and security to datacentre, end-user compute and even service architecture. The team provides customers and the wider Softcat team sight of the broader picture – helping to pull all pieces of the jigsaw together and solving the puzzle of how business requirements are interpreted into technical solutions involving multiple technical verticals.

As a Vendor Architect focused on Palo Alto Networks, you'll be part of the Architecture Services Team. In this role you'll be the first port of call for creating Palo Alto Networks solutions that solve customer problems.

 

You'll be developing the skills and abilities of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the full Palo Alto Networks portfolio, including Strata, Prisma SASE, Cortex & Prisma Cloud. You will take responsibility as the technical lead on customer projects and will be producing high quality design documentation when required within a given project or customer engagement.

 

Working with your Team Leader and Mentor you will work down a path to become a Subject Matter Expert in Palo Alto Networks Solutions and other related technical disciplines such as Cyber Security. You will be working closely with Softcat's Networking and Security Specialist teams, ensuring existing customers are getting the most out of their investments into Palo Alto Networks solutions, and also growing the customer base.

 

As Vendor Architect / SE – Palo Alto Networks, you'll be responsible for: 

Helping to understand, scope and document customers' business and technical requirements.

Producing BoMs and other foundational documentation.

Working with other Architecture Services members, professional services consultants, and architects to develop cross-discipline and multi-vendor solutions for customers.

Working with the Softcat Sales Specialists and the Softcat Account Management team to provide technical information and expertise to assist customers in their business needs.

 

We'd love you to have

A passion for technology and making technology work for businesses along with a desire to share your knowledge and experience with those around you.

Relevant degree or industry recognised qualifications or certifications consummate to the role (e.g. Palo Alto Networks Certifications such as PSE: Professional, PCNSE/PCNSC etc. although desirable this is not a necessity).

Excellent communications skills, particularly with customers.

Excellent time management skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality of output.
