About the Team

You’ll be joining the team leading Entrust's Identity portfolio, including the solutions formerly Onfido (AI-powered digital identity solution). With the completed acquisition, Entrust now provides the industry's most comprehensive portfolio of AI-powered, identity-centric security solutions.


Our technology helps businesses verify real identities using AI and biometrics, ensuring secure remote customer and business onboarding. By assessing government-issued IDs and facial biometrics with dashboards and fraud signals, we provide companies with the assurance they need to operate securely while allowing people to access services quickly and safely.


Position Overview

We are looking for Applied Scientist II to play a key role in the design and deployment of cutting-edge AI-powered digital identity solutions. Join our team and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and researchers to shape the future of secure authentication.


What you will be doing

  • Initiate, plan and drive projects that bring the next generation of digital onboarding products to the real world and withstand the most aggressive fraud attacks.
  • Design and build high performance end-to-end systems spanning data acquisition, data processing, and post processing for identity verification.
  • Mentor and work with junior scientists to research and deliver innovative technologies that utilize every bit of signal in the data.
  • Participate in hands-on machine learning research and deliver results as new products.
  • Communicate technical vision and roadmap at multiple levels within the organization and externally.
  • Publish research results in national and international conferences and journals. Represent Entrust at scientific conferences.
  • Contribute to filing patents.

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience in machine learning and computer vision, including deploying ML models to production.
  • Track record of delivering high performance ML-driven products.
  • Experience working with customers to solve problems.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning theory.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with uncertainty modelling, explainable ML, out-of-distribution detection, life-long learning.
  • Experience with signal processing and image processing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing (preferably AWS) and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Git.

Where you will be

This role is based out of our London, UK office and follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence three times per week.
