Role summary

We are looking for an Applied Data Science Consultant who is looking to help our customers achieve ROI from their first-party behavioural data by delivering cutting-edge AI, Data Science and other technical solutions, built on top of Intent HQ’s core products. The role will help our customers unravel the complexities of behavioural AI for large organisations with a passion for insights and personalisation.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Applied Data Science Consultant to join our Client Success team. This is a hybrid role that requires direct expertise with data science, advanced data analytics and AI tooling, but with a focus on working closely with our customers to help them achieve the outcomes they need by leveraging our technology. This job would particularly suit experienced data scientists looking to expand the scope of their role into consulting and value delivery, or experienced technical consultants with a firm grasp of data science and AI.

As part of the Client Success organisation, you’ll work directly with our enterprise customers, our product teams and our data and software engineers to deliver value directly to our customers by creating features, models and delivering amazing new capabilities. You will be someone who is passionate about communicating the value of Data Science as well as prototyping and building models, so this role would be expected to be approximately 50% technical delivery and 50% consulting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage our core product & data science assets to build and deliver solutions that create value for our customers

  • Help our customers transform their ability to use actionable behavioural insight in the service of their customers

  • Work directly with customers to understand the problems that they face, and how behavioural insights can be used to help them

  • Help our customers develop an intuition as to how our models work and how our insights will deliver better outcomes for them

  • Design and engineer informative new features and models that can help our clients to better understand their customers

  • Become a champion of Data Science internally and participate in our data science community in partnership with product data science colleagues

  • Contribute ideas to support new Data Science opportunities from customer data that can be transitioned into our product development and Data Science teams

Skills and experience

Essential

  • The most important requirement is the ability to creatively and logically think through key client problems that our stakeholders face in order to determine how our data science capabilities can be used to achieve a positive ROI

  • Knowledge and experience of building and evaluating machine learning models in areas such as clustering, natural language processing and deep learning.

  • Experience with data discovery and feature evaluation for inclusion in machine learning models

  • Experience with AI tooling (e.g. finetuning, RAG, agentic)

  • Experience working closely and collaboratively with internal and external business stakeholders to understand their needs

  • Are a passionate communicator and able to translate technical content in commercial terms for non-technical stakeholders, such as customers, sales and product teams

  • Willing to travel to meet customers and prospects with our Client Success and/or sales teams (avg 2 short trips per quarter)

Desirable
  • B2B product experience

  • Experience with Spark SQL, PySpark and related machine learning libraries

  • Distributed databases and tooling (Spark, Hive, Databricks)

  • AWS (S3, EMR)

  • AI, LLM, Agentics and/or Causal AI experience

How to Write an AI CV that Beats ATS (UK examples)

Writing an AI CV for the UK market is about clarity, credibility, and alignment. Recruiters spend seconds scanning the top third of your CV, while Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) check for relevant skills & recent impact. Your goal is to make both happy without gimmicks: plain structure, sharp evidence, and links that prove you can ship to production. This guide shows you exactly how to do that. You’ll get a clean CV anatomy, a phrase bank for measurable bullets, GitHub & portfolio tips, and three copy-ready UK examples (junior, mid, research). Paste the structure, replace the details, and tailor to each job ad.

AI Recruitment Trends 2025 (UK): What Job Seekers Must Know About Today’s Hiring Process

Summary: UK AI hiring has shifted from titles & puzzle rounds to skills, portfolios, evals, safety, governance & measurable business impact. This guide explains what’s changed, what to expect in interviews, and how to prepare—especially for LLM application, MLOps/platform, data science, AI product & safety roles. Who this is for: AI/ML engineers, LLM engineers, data scientists, MLOps/platform engineers, AI product managers, applied researchers & safety/governance specialists targeting roles in the UK.

Why AI Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Artificial intelligence is no longer a single-discipline pursuit. In the UK, employers increasingly want talent that can code and communicate, model and manage risk, experiment and empathise. That shift is reshaping job descriptions, training pathways & career progression. AI is touching regulated sectors, sensitive user journeys & public services — so the work now sits at the crossroads of computer science, law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design. This isn’t a buzzword-driven change. It’s happening because real systems are deployed in the wild where people have rights, needs, habits & constraints. As models move from lab demos to products that diagnose, advise, detect fraud, personalise education or generate media, teams must align performance with accountability, safety & usability. The UK’s maturing AI ecosystem — from startups to FTSE 100s, consultancies, the public sector & universities — is responding by hiring multidisciplinary teams who can anticipate social impact as confidently as they ship features. Below, we unpack the forces behind this change, spotlight five disciplines now fused with AI roles, show what it means for UK job-seekers & employers, and map practical steps to future-proof your CV.
