What do we need

Virscidian A Dotmatics Business is seeking an Application Scientist to join the Business Development team you will join a fastpaced talented team of scientists who collaborate with clients through all phases of a project's life cycle and where each day brings something new. We work as a crossfunctional team alongside our development and support teams building new opportunities delivering projects and growing our business and scientific reputation. Our business is often about helping our customers solve complex automated analytical chemistry (chromatography / Mass Spectrometry ) projects across a wide range of laboratory workflows. You must be a selfdriven and collaborative scientist who wants to make a difference in laboratory automation. Communication is an integral part of how we work as our entire team is remotely based and spread across many time zones as are our industry partners.


In this role you will get to

  • Contribute to business development project realization project delivery and postdelivery training and support activities.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand and capture the scope of existing and new projects.
  • Understand the highly adaptable capabilities of our current solutions and workflows and apply these in the context of new project opportunities. To translate customerrequested functionality and workflow gaps and capture these into project delivery requirements that are understandable to our internal development and support teams.
  • Collaborate with our development team on project customization and core product development.
  • Contribute to the product and automated solution workflow roadmaps of the business.
  • Contribute and help drive our growing scientific and business presence in the industry.
  • Assist our support team in solving more challenging customer support calls and requests.
  • Be a mentor source of expertise and communicator adapting to different levels of technical familiarity with the people with whom we work internally and externally.
  • Travel to and participate in scientific conferences and onsite customer activities.


We are looking for people witharound 5 plus years of handson instrument experience in chromatography and mass spectrometry applications. You should hold a Bachelor's Degree and ideally a Master's Degree or higher in a relevant scientific domain with proven expertise in laboratory workflows. Prior automation experience is highly desirable. You will be able to demonstrate advanced analytical skills problemsolving great attention to detail and crossfunctional teamwork and communication in all forms of presentation.


The key skills we are looking for

  • Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (LC and/or GC).
  • Experience in one or more Analytical Chemistry workflows: Purification High Throughput Experimentation (HTE) Affinity Screening Studies or MSBased DMPK / Bioassays.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Working in a global setting.
  • Leading/delivering internal and external meetings and/or training sessions.


You may also have

  • Familiarity with informatics systems.
  • Prior sales and business development experience.
  • Prior software coding experience or familiarity with a preference in c#
