We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Algorithms Team Lead to join an ambitious, highly regarded, scientific engineering / manufacturing business that are in a position of sustained growth.

The Algorithms Team Lead will be an experienced technologist with leadership experience who wishes to lead a forward-thinking team using product knowledge and mathematical analysis to develop the algorithms that underpin the advanced capabilities of a highly technical product range.

To keep ahead of their rivals, the business is always looking to develop state of the art algorithm technology. This includes an increasing adoption of methods that employ machine-learning and artificial intelligence

      The successful candidate will:

  • Lead a team of algorithm developers typically using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

  • Collaborate with the systems teams to understand how the algorithms will be used, and with the software team to appreciate how they will be implemented.

  • Be responsible for defining the toolchain and process for ensuring integrity through to the final product.

  • Have the ability to influence:

    • How we develop algorithms within the team and more widely within MBDA.

    • How the team grows and adapts to meet evolving technological needs.

      Skills Required:

  • Experience of leading teams of highly qualified and technical individuals.

  • A commitment to quality and the procedures we follow to ensure it.

  • A desire to make an impression within the MBDA engineering community.

    Any experience in any of the following areas would be highly beneficial:

  • Software development, Mathematical analysis, Numerical simulation and / or Machine learning

    You will need to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role. This will require you to either be a UK Citizen or a UK Dual Citizen. Some restrictions may apply.
