We are a team of IT (Information Technologies) professionals from Seagate. We are responsible for creating and implementing data-driven solutions to support business decisions and operations across several locations in the US, Southeast Asia, India, China, the United Kingdom. The use of AI and ML allows for real-time data analysis and decision making, predictive maintenance, and the optimization of production processes. We collaborate with the business teams to harness the full potential of Industry 4.0 - Real-time control, IoT, Big Data and Analytics, Automation and Artificial Intelligence to support “Smart Factory” initiative, to make better decision and maximize operational excellence. The team has won industry awards due to its innovation, best in class systems, and value delivery.



To ensure that all new Interns can benefit as effectively as possible during their time here, we offer an 11 month development opportunity called Campus to Corporate Training Program.



This Program is in place to prepare and support you by equipping you with the skills, knowledge and tools that assist you to succeed.

About the role - you will:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Machine Learning Intern wishing to take on an 11-month placement to join our IT team in Springtown Northern Ireland. Commencing on 31st August 2026 until 20th August 2027.

• Develop machine learning algorithms to automate factory processes
• Undertaking data collection, preprocessing of structured and unstructured data and analysis
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
• Design, develop, and implement AI agents to automate complex tasks and enhance factory intelligence
• Presenting information using data visualization techniques

About you:

• Familiar and well versed in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Data Science or a related discipline
• Flexible and adaptive in learning new technologies and languages
• Passionate about big data, statistics, data management, data processing, data testing, data governance or analysis
• Ability to communicate and work cross-functionality
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts

Your experience includes:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, computer science, Software development, or related field.
• Proficient in Python, including experience with pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, numpy, and Jupyter notebooks.
• Familiar with SQL, web technologies, Javascript, .NET, Hadoop, and R/Shiny.
• Experience with microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes is desirable 
• Experience in image processing, OpenCV, TensorFlow would be advantageous. 
• Experience with Generative AI frameworks and tools (such as Llama, LLMs, RAG)
• Experience with classification and tree-based algorithms, among other supervised and unsupervised methodologies. Knowledge of regression, clustering or neural networks is advantageous.
• Interest in machine learning with experience with Kaggle competitions, personal projects, or coursework

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, on-site working. The placement dates are: Starting on Monday, 31st August 2026 and finishing Friday, 20th August 2027
