AI Architect - Wireless Comms - C++/Python

Hexwired Recruitment has partnered with a pioneering engineering client pushing the boundaries in wireless communications and secure systems. Due to expansion across their innovation division, they’re now looking to hire a senior-level AI Architect with a strong background in Machine Learning and system-level development.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role within the CTO function, and you’ll be defining and delivering AI/ML strategies across mission-critical platforms - with a particular focus on wireless products, secure systems, and high-performance architecture.

You’ll join a fast-paced R&D environment where your work will directly impact next-gen technologies in communications and cyber-physical security. This role calls for a deep technical foundation across data analytics, algorithms, scalable architectures, and a proven track record delivering robust, production-grade AI solutions.

Key Skills & Experience Needed:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, ideally with large-scale deployment exposure

  • Extensive C++ and Python development experience, ideally in security or comms environments

  • A solid understanding of wireless technologies, IoT systems, or cyber-physical architectures

  • Proven capability in designing AI frameworks and aligning them with real-world engineering goals

  • Strong grasp of data pipelines, algorithm optimisation, and secure model integration

  • Experience guiding tech decisions and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams

  • Awareness of IP considerations and regulatory factors in AI deployments is highly desirable

  • Strong academic background – PhD or MSc preferred in AI, Computer Science, or related field

    What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designing and delivering long-term AI architecture across product platforms

  • Leading technical R&D into novel machine learning applications for wireless systems

  • Ensuring secure, ethical, and scalable model implementation within real-time environments

  • Collaborating closely with product, hardware, and security engineers to drive integration

  • Acting as a senior point of reference on ML best practices and algorithm design

  • Contributing to patent strategy, technical documentation, and innovation planning
