Are you an experienced and strategic account handler with a passion for building client relationships and delivering outstanding scientific and patient communications? IQVIA™ Medical Communications is seeking an Account Director specializing in medical affairs and patient communications. You will have a key role in leading client accounts, developing strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of projects whilst driving business growth.

About the Account Director role


Collaborating with the inquisitive and imaginative minds within the division, the Account Lead will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, working across a wide range of offerings within the IQVIA Medical Communications business, managing high quality project delivery along with new business and account growth. 

This role is open to either UK home based or UK hybrid working. Some travel into the offices (Reading and London) is expected as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead client accounts, fostering strong and enduring relationships to maximize revenue and profitability
- Understand client objectives and provide strategic guidance throughout the entire campaign/project lifecycle
- Facilitate effective discussions with stakeholders
- Drive creative and strategic excellence, pushing clients and the agency towards optimal performance
- Drive delivery of projects, responsible for quality deliverables, budget and time management
- Proactively engage with clients to develop annual strategies and identify opportunities for account growth
- Conduct regular client health checks, skilfully managing challenging situations with professionalism
- Proactive practice of cross-sell strategy for relevant new products and programmes
- Proactive practice of up-selling existing products, supporting growth across multiple accounts
- Maintain a deep understanding of the relevant therapeutic landscape pertaining to client accounts
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
- Support leadership in new business pitches and support the development of proposals and strategic growth
- Drives innovative thinking, and leads brainstorming sessions to develop tailored offerings for clients
- Working with project management teams to ensure profitability and growth through accurate budgeting, efficient project timeline monitoring, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice, legislation, and industry standards
- Manage the performance and professional development of team members, senior review of key account deliverables
- Travel to client meetings as required

Requirements
- Over 5years of experience in the healthcare/pharma industry, including senior account manager or account director agency experience
- Strong track record of managing client accounts and delivering successful projects within a medical communication setting
- Proven track record in medical communications, encompassing experience in various type of aspects, such as integrated medical planning, content delivery, patient solutions, scientific communication platform, scientific narratives, symposia, webinars, publications management, content development in a variety of formats
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy
- Excellent collaborative abilities, working effectively within a team and independently
- Curiosity about our business, the industry, and current events
- Solid understanding of the industry landscape
- Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently and demonstrate strong time management
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Proactive problem-solving skills and an eagerness to seek out information
- Adherence to deadlines and the ability to anticipate and address potential challenges
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively across different organizational levels
- Demonstrated a proactive, results-oriented mindset
- Self-motivation and effective organizational skills
