We'relooking for an experienced, hands-on and enthusiastic Group Head ofTax on a 12 month fixed term contract to support the Tax team atMonzo, and our wider finance team. You’ll be leading our growingTax team of 8+ individuals, and will be reporting into Monzo BankLimited’s CFO. A large part of the role will involve advising onthe tax implications of all new business developments, ensuringwe’re both set up for compliance and optimised wherever possibleand appropriate. Given the stage Monzo is currently at in itsgrowth journey, these will be many and wide ranging, from customerproducts to treasury strategies, group reorgs to mobilityproposals, systems implementations to international expansion. -Being responsible for all things Tax: including Corporation Tax,VAT, Employment Tax, International Tax, Transfer Pricing, andOperational Taxes, across compliance, reporting and advisory, bothin the UK and overseas. - Coaching and developing the tax team,setting priorities and strategic direction, and stakeholdermanagement. - Being part of our Finance Leadership Team, feedinginto and supporting the wider Finance team goals and objectives. -Taking responsibility for identifying and acting on all relevantlegislative changes. We’d love to hear from you if... - You’re aqualified accountant and/or qualified tax advisor. - You haveexperience working across a range of UK taxes, includingInternational Tax (US and/or EU specific tax experience is a bonus,but not a requirement!). - You have significant experience workingin-house (within Financial Services is a bonus). - You enjoydeveloping and motivating a team. - You’re comfortable workingpretty autonomously. - You’re energetic and hands-on with yourwork, tackling whatever needs doing to make things happen. - Whatwe’re doing at Monzo excites you! We're also open todistributed working within the UK (with the expectation of aminimum 1 day per week working from our London office). We offerflexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to doyour job well, and at times that suit you and your team. £1,000learning budget each year to use on books, training courses andconferences. We will set you up to work from home; all employeesare given Macbooks and for fully remote workers we will provideextra support for your work-from-home setup.
