After successfully securing a £45million investment to fuel our ongoing growth and to further invest in our AI products, we are currently building out our Tech Hub in Belfast - this is a super exciting time to join Napier in Belfast as we expand.

We’re building our Developer Relations team and are looking for a senior technical writer with a web-development and/or SaaS background. You’ll develop content that will both be used to teach our support staff, third-party implementors and in-house developers to build and Create and maintain developer documentation, tutorials, and sample code.  


What you'll be doing: Technical Writer

  • You will be writing technical documents using best practices from technical writing and instructional design. 
  • Develop run books and installation samples that leverage and demonstrate the features of our platform  
  • Be the voice of the support staff to the engineering team; influence the direction of the support experience  
  • Writes, rewrites, or edits technical documents such as end-user manuals, API manuals, instruction sheets, application notes, technical notes, and browser-based online help systems.  
  • Updates, maintains, and supports all procedure guides, style guides, and templates for our product platform and UI. 


Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, or Journalism from an accredited university; or equivalent work experience.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical writing, including 1 year of recent documentation project management experience. 
  • Experience creating installation guides, administration guides, user guides, and online help systems for hardware and software products. 
  • Web frameworks such as React or Angular. 
  • Writer: You’re a wordsmith that writes for technical and nontechnical audiences. Your writing is accessible because it’s structurally consistent and uses Plain English 
  • Editor: You create and follow style guidelines. You enjoy finding typos and inconsistencies. You have strong opinions about gerunds.  
  • Teacher: You know the difference between a how-to and a tutorial. You use analogies and infographics to make technical content understandable.  
  • Analytical skills to define a problem, identify solutions, and recommend a course of action 
  • Communication skills to educate others on how your projects are designed, implemented, and maintained  
  • Project management skills to keep stakeholders informed and deliver to a timeline
