Assistant Manager – Algorithm & AI Assurance – Audit & Assurance

Deloitte's Assurance practice serves guidance and confidence to those charged with governance. This role focuses on AI & algorithm risk assurance, helping clients manage regulatory changes and build trust through independent assurance.



  • Working within a team to provide professional services across the Algorithm and AI Assurance focus areas described above.
  • Providing assurance over large technology platforms compliance with new Internet regulations – i.e. Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act, EU AI Act.
  • Completing Algorithm and AI control reviews and control testing (training can be provided on how to apply Deloitte's proprietary Algorithm and AI assurance procedures).
  • Supporting with day‑to‑day delivery of project objectives, interaction with clients, and regular reporting to team leads.
  • Preparing deliverables including written reports, working papers, and summary analyses.
  • Ensuring project deliverables are undertaken in accordance with quality and risk requirements.
  • Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
  • Being prepared to adapt quickly to new situations and enjoy variety.


  • Keen interest in regulatory requirements relating to algorithms impacting firms and emerging regulation in AI/Algorithms (e.g. EU AI Act, Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act, Online Safety Act, etc).
  • Experience in risk and control assessments (preferably IT, Algorithm or AI related).
  • Highly proficient in written and oral communication, including experience in written deliverables to senior stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Impressive analytical capabilities (including proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Strong project management skills (input to the design of approach, management of junior staff, client stakeholders, timely reporting to internal and client senior management).
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Highly motivated, committed with a positive and ambitious attitude.


  • Experience in internal (or external) audit, in particular with regards to performing design and operating effectiveness testing of controls (IT control testing experience will be considered).
  • Experience with regards to algorithm or technology control enhancement and regulatory change projects (e.g. through working within a risk and controls team at another professional services firm or within industry, or through experience in regulatory supervision).
  • Experience in working with control frameworks and/or control framework enhancement, especially relating to algorithms or AI.
  • Coding or data modelling and analytics experience.

You will be based in London with a hybrid working policy.
